Historical Note

The Michigan Biotechnology Institute was founded in 1981, as part of a task force put together by Michigan's state government. The Institute's main goal is to research renewable resources and energies and make these available to the public. In 2005 it became a subsidiary of the Michigan State University Foundation.

The records contain flyers advertising various symposiums hosted by the Institute. Also included is the newsletter, Bio-Connection, which outlined events within the organization from 1986-1990.
