|Title:||Arthur E. Lyons Collection|
Arthur Lyons attended MSU from 1896 to 1899, and enrolled as a special student in 1900, but it is unclear if he actually graduated. He majored in mechanical engineering. After attending MSU he worked for the Hugh Lyons Company of Lansing.
The collection consists of a letter to Arthur Lyons from Robert McCarthy about the campaign to build the Michigan State University Memorial Union. The letter describes how much had been pledged at that time, how much area businesses had pledged and compared their support with community support of Kansas University and Purdue University's unions. The letter also explains that the H.G. Christman Construction company will do the work and supplies will be bought in Lansing. Also included is a letter from Barrett Lyons, Arthur's son, about the donation and giving brief information about his father.
