Historical Note

The club was organized May, 1903 and was called Michigan Agricultural Woman's Club. The first president was Miss Maude Gilchrist, who was Dean of Women and of the Home Economics Division of Michigan Agricultural College.

Scope and Contents note

The collection contains an unpublished eighty page manuscript about the history of the East Lansing Woman's Club written by Mae Belle McKune. Topics included are each year's discussion subject and membership, as well as a one paragraph synopsis of the club activity by year. Appended is a list of the Club's presidents from 1903 to 1978.
